A ripple in the lake of time
Darkens the world and its brethren
Until all that is is incased in twilight
The forgetfulness of the inhabitants
From the gargantuan mammoth to the docile kitty
Has left this; a monolith in their way
It blocks out the sun; leaves black the bay
As if the sunlight had been guillotined between source and receiver
The planets, starved of light, start to shrivel
A hole in the universe depriving them
Of the very thing that keeps their heart going
From the biggest planet to the little thistle
And after the hole, of such corrupt origin, moved on
Leaving the system in its dingiest state
A rouge star, a dogstar they say
Shot light back into the galaxy, like a pistol
And forever barred the darkness from returning
A protective case stronger than steel
Locked the light inside
And kept the hives of black at bay
And at once, the encasement glowed bright white
Leaving the black to fend for itself
And it was said, at that moment
Eden came to exist
Massively, Beautifully, masterfully
Paradise barred anything that would destroy
All that the lone star came to protect
And at once, on all the planets and moons
It began to rain a torrential rain
As all the planets wept for the star
Who gave up its freedom to roam
To save a society so small
And it all came to pass
From just one rock
