From just one rockA ripple in the lake of time Darkens the world and its brethren Until all that is is incased in twilight The forgetfulness of the inhabitants From the gargantuan mammoth to the docile kitty Has left this; a monolith in their way It blocks out the sun; leaves black the bay As if the sunlight had been guillotined between source and receiver The planets, starved of light, start to shrivel A hole in the universe depriving them Of the very thing that keeps their heart going From the biggest planet to the little thistle And after the hole, of such corrupt origin, moved on  From just one rock
